Caution: Hot Asphalt!

Too hot to touch, means too hot for Spot…

Keep in mind during the summer months that cement sidewalks, driveways and asphalt surfaces like roads can reach upwards of 150 degrees on a hot sunny day. Before talking your pooch for a walk, be sure to touch the hard surfaces to check for temperature. If it is too hot for you to touch, then it can certainly damage a dog’s paw pads.

Even though their pads feel all scratchy and rough, they can burn & be injured, just like human skin. If you & your dog must cross hot surfaces, keep it as brief as possible. Or check out some protective pet booties, like our friend Rosie has on here. Your pet (and Vet) will thank you for it!
